The NDRO will be there from Recovery to Revival for impacted communities
Material losses and property damage from disaster events are relatively easy to quantify but the human cost is immeasurable and often permanent

The NDRO will be there for the Long Haul
The NDRO has a mission, and we need your help to deliver it. That mission sees the NDRO ready to assist, from the beginning of a disaster to the end and beyond.
What we do
The NDRO is developing a wide range of disaster relief, re-building and revival programmes exclusively for Australian communities.
These programmes will be delivered from the beginning of a disaster event through the rebuilding phase and ultimately to helping revive whole communities.
Why we do it
To help Australian communities when they are at their most vulnerable.
Each disaster event has its unique challenges but there are also a lot of similarities between disasters, particularly with the immediate aftermath and beyond.
When we do it
Immediately a disaster declaration is made the NDRO gets to work.
Material losses and property damage can be quantified easily enough but the human cost is immeasurable.
Dealing with the initial shock of the event and realising that property has been lost or family pets, livestock or loved ones have been injured or perished, can be overwhelming for many survivors.
Unfortunately, some people and communities NEVER fully recover from disaster.
